Vitamin A is helpful to fight against Skin Cancer

As we all know, many vitamins are needed for body development. Each vitamin contributes to the smooth functioning of the body. Vitamin A is essential for the body to boost my immune system and for the eyes. But research done a few days ago claims that if you consume foods that contain high amounts of vitamin A, there is a lower risk of developing skin cancer. 

In a study conducted on nearly 100,000 US citizens, it was found that those who consumed too much vitamin H reduced the risk of skin cancer by about 1 percent. This research has been published in the JAMA Dermatology Journal.

Professor Yunung Cho of Brown University in the United States said that the findings from the research prove that once again, the importance of fruits and vegetables is essential in the diet. Vitamin A is safe for us which present in fruits and vegetables. According to the US National Institutes of Health, foods containing vitamin A includes , sweet potatoes, carrots, lobias, red bell peppers, broccoli, spinach, dairy products and fish.

Squamous cell carcinoma is a common form of skin cancer. Researchers have suggested that, 11 % of US citizens suffer from squamous cell skin cancer. This cancer is mainly caused by exposure to the sun for a long time. The research includes data of more than 75,000 women and nearly 50,000 males of an average 50 years-old person. In the research, everyone was asked about their average diet and supplements. Skin cancer was detected in 4,000 people and it was revealed that all these individuals were reducing their intake of vitamin A.

Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin, which means that it is stored in fat cells. However, according to the National Institutes of Health, when consumed too much vitamin A , then it reached an ‘insecure level’. Meanwhile, excessive intake of vitamin increases the risk of osteoporosis and ‘hip fractures’ several times.
